Los Alamos Community Winds Spring Back Into Music

For several months, our community has been without “live” music. The Los Alamos Community Winds will host Spring Back Into Music on Saturday, May 22. At 3:00 p.m. LACW will present a concert at Ashley Pond. The concert will also be live streamed on YouTube. The Los Alamos Flute Choir, Covid Clarinet Quintet, SaxAtomix, Percussionist Stuart Bloom, and LACW director Ted Vives accompanied by pianist Julian Chen will all be performing.

The concert will also feature trombonist and LAHS graduating senior, Jackson Bell. Jackson is the recipient of the 2021 Music-Filled Life Scholarship, and will be performing Alexandre Guilmant’s “Morceau Symphonique” accompanied by LACW pianist, Julian Chen.

Jackson is a senior at Los Alamos High School and has played trombone for 7 years in most musical contexts. He participated in the Allstate and Jazz Allstate festivals throughout high school, achieving the top spot for trombone players his senior year. Jackson hopes to continue pursuing a career in trombone performance alongside his music education career. He plans to attend the University of New Mexico in the fall and is beyond excited to carve his path forward.
