The week of March 9-14, 2026 is being designated as Mozart Week in Los Alamos to celebrate the 270th birthday of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
The Los Alamos Community Winds is sponsoring a week-long series of events and performances, culminating with a Gala Concert on March 14, 7:00pm, at Crossroads Bible Church. The concert will feature as a special guest clarinet soloist and Mozart scholar, Dr. Marie Ross. In addition to Mozart classics such as the Overture to The Marriage of Figaro, the concert will also include a humorous PDQ Bach arrangement of A Little Night Music.
Events in the week leading up to the concert will include :
- A clarinet recital and Mozart lecture by Dr. Marie Ross at Fuller Lodge,
- Mozart-themed movies, including Amadeus, at SALA,
- Noon time performances by local ensembles, and
- A clarinet master-class taught by Dr. Ross
